Remembering our Grandma
On January 19, our dear Grandma Veer went to be with Jesus. After her struggle with ALS, she is now singing, talking, and walking again in heaven. Our family misses her very much but we will always remember what a very special Grandma she was and how very much she loved us.
All of the kids with Grandpa & Grandma on Labor Day 2007
Grandma's house was a great place to be in the fall with so many leaves to pile up and jump into.
Owen says he always remembers that Grandma would make good food (She was also quite creative with this Hot Dog Octopus on a bed of green seaweed spaghetti). All the kids loved when Grandma brought out a big pan of finger jello and then let them make their own shapes with cookie cutters.
Another favorite memory of the kids is decorating Christmas cookies - oh what fun they had and Grandma was so very patient.

Grandkids Day is a wonderful memory for the kids. Scavenger hunts, water gun fights, and stories from Africa will always have a special place in their hearts.
Malia loved when Grandma read stories to her. Malia also would ask Grandma to play lots of different games with her but especially UNO. Even after Grandma couldn't talk so clearly anymore, they could still play games.
Grandma always made terrific birthday cakes. She also made made sure the kids never went home without a little bag of candy for the road. They definitely remember that!
Brooklyn loved to give her Grandma kisses and smiles

Meredith says she remembers Grandma making things with her and that Grandma always played with her and she could always sit on Grandma's lap.
Malia & Meredith loved to play UNO with Grandma and I don't think she ever refused them.

Grandma was always willing for little helping hands in the kitchen. We will all remember her patience, peaceful spirit, and kindness.
Malia & Meredith remember that Grandma would always spray some of her perfume on them if they asked - and ask they did, everytime. Grandma also sent them home with lots of play jewelry on several different occasions.
Whenever Grandpa & Grandma came to visit our house, the kids could barely wait they would be so excited. First thing every morning, the kids headed straight to the basement to jump on Grandpa & Grandma's bed. With each new baby, they always came to visit and give us a little helping hand.
