MEREDITH
Meredith has had an eventful last couple of weeks. We are working on potty training on the chance (fingers crossed) that maybe we can have her out of diapers before the next little girl arrives. She's doing pretty well and likes her rewards of Pez, Starburst, or Popsicles.
Meredith has always loved her binkies and still sleeps with them at naptime & bedtime. About a week ago, I came home from work and Phil had her in bed and I saw all her binkies on our dresser. Well, she made it to sleep with only a little crying he said, but it was the 5 or 6 times she was up that night that were hard. She kept asking for "mine yellow binky" - I told her we put them away but then she would just say "sheck in Daddy's pocket" :-( By morning, I couldn't really remember if I finally had given in or just dreamed that I did. Whew!! the binkies were still in our room. She has made it 6 days now so I think we are past the hard part.
Other than that she is just really ornery lately. She especially seems to love to torment Owen. She can get him to howl pretty easily by trying to destroy most anything he is working on.
MALIA
Malia's interesting conversations as of late have included that she wants to marry Owen, be an artist, and help me cook so that she can learn to be a Mommy. Since Owen wants to be a builder, she has said that he could build us a house and then she could paint it pink, purple & yellow!!
She likes to pray at night and has some regular stuff she prays every night which I just have to jot down so I can remember when she is older.
"Pray that there would be no hurricanes, tornadoes, or twisties"
"Pray that Meredith won't get out of bed"
"Pray that Meredith won't turn the CD player up loud"
"Pray that Meredith won't climb in my bed"
"Pray that Meredith won't cry when Mommy & Daddy go out"
"Pray that I won't have any bad dreams"
"Pray that I won't be scared"
"Pray that there won't be any bad guys"
"Pray that there won't be any snakes or rattlesnakes or bugs"
OWEN
Owen enjoys building with his Tinker Toys & Legos. We've signed him up to play spring soccer with some of his classmates at school so he is excited about that. His vocabulary seems to be growing too. I made a new recipe the other night for supper and after his first bite he said "Well, this is definitely unusual" - I guess that's better than "Yuck, what is this?"
One of the first things, I usually have him do when he gets home from school is change into one of his pair of jeans that already have the knees ripped out. He does so much running and diving around the house that we are trying to salvage the last couple of good pairs till it's shorts weather.
We've talked about this summer starting a list of regular chores for him so he can earn a little of his own money. Problem is, now whenever I ask him to do something, he finishes the job and then says, "Are you going to pay me now mommy?" Still have to work out a few kinks in his thinking on that.
???????
Well, I know some of you are dying to know the name for baby #4 but we really haven't decided on one yet! Malia would like to name her Beauty. As of late, she just does lots of kicking and moving around. I am 30 weeks now, so it won't be much longer. I've been doing a little nesting/spring cleaning lately but I think it is in part mostly to having a new vacuum cleaner that actually has some suction.
