Owen was eating an apple a couple of weeks ago, and thought he had a seed in his mouth, but instead it was a tooth. I had no idea it was loose and apparently neither did he. He had been anxious to lose a tooth as one of his classmates had already lost more than one. So, later that night he stuck his tooth in a baggie under his pillow for the tooth fairy. Phil , removed the baggie and put some money under the pillow.
The baggie was on the kitchen counter, and apparently Phil & I both moved it at least once - but then all of a sudden it was gone. Now, I admit I am not a saver of things, but due to several factors (lack of sleep, hormones still a bit out of whack, and not to mention that it was Owen's first tooth he lost & he had told me how he was going to save them) I was about in tears. I found the baggie in the kitchen trash (and I am pretty sure I put it there - I confess) but there was no tooth! So, you know what that means b/c I hate to lose things! I went through the kitchen trash 2 times, dragged my husband out of bed to help me scour the house but all to no avail. We finally went to bed but prayed if the tooth was still around somewhere we would find it.
Early the next morning , I went through the trash one last time before setting it out by the curb. Owen woke up and was so happy with his money he didn't even ask where the tooth was. Whew!! However, later in the morning when I was putting silverware away - THERE THE TOOTH WAS - in the silverware drawer. Thank you Lord for caring about even the little things in our lives!
