In some ways, it seems like so long ago that Owen was a baby, but yet I can't believe he is 7 now. Owen is such a good natured boy and has really started to be a bit more rambunctious as of late. It may be the winter, or maybe he just has a bunch of pent up energy from being in school all day. This week he was the featured "special person" in his class so I went to visit school for the last part of the afternoon and saw his little presentation of his photos & favorites. He seems quite at ease talking in front of his classmates. He is also quite friendly with our neighbors and has probably talked to some of them even more than we have.
Owen has a love of learning about the Bible and we only hope & pray that it continues that way. In school they highlight a character trait each month and then the teacher selects a student that models that trait. In October, he was given a certificate by his teacher, recognizing the character quality of Reverence in his life. His conscience is easily pricked (not quite as much when it comes to fighting with his sisters) and there have been a couple of times that he feels badly about an incident and isn't at peace until it has been taken care of. He listens and learns well and is always full of questions. One evening not long ago, I went in to tell him good night and didn't get out of his room until we had discussed why the President did not just make a law against smoking!
Owen loves to work on projects with his dad and he also is always trying to come up with a money making scheme. His latest idea is for me to save baby food jars and then he can put in colored sand and make pretty designs. I told him MAYBE if we have a garage sale, he can do something.
Owen, you are such a blessing to us from God and we love you very much!
