My goodness, it has been awhile since I updated our blog. As I sit here on a Saturday afternoon, all 4 of my children are NAPPING AT THE SAME TIME! They are recovering from a late night at the sitter's last night, so they can go to yet another sitter's/birthday party tonight. Yes, Phil and I have back to back date nights, although tonight is a work related dinner so we'll be joined by quite a few others :P
April has flown by with all the spring sports and activities. Owen is participating in Soccer and Baseball. We didn't realize that there would be so much overlap between the two, so he is a busy boy with practices and games. He scored his first goal in a soccer game so was pretty excited about that. During Standardized Tests at school this week, Owen's teacher gave out scrap paper for the math problems. He said he didn't use it but just figured stuff in his head - takes after his dad I guess. About a week ago he asked us if he could have his own email address. After we said no, he said, "What is an email address anyway?" Exactly!!
Malia & Meredith have been playing lots of pretend lately. They were outside and rang the doorbell and proceeded to tell me their story - "Our parents died and we have been walking a long way and we saw your house and it looked like a mom might live inside." I told them they were in luck because I WAS a mom and even had some lunch ready!
Brooklyn is just busy!! Poison Control received their first call from me as my little crawler got into the ant poison before I could stop her. Thankfully it didn't appear that any of it made it into her mouth. I've started reading to her at bedtime and she loves the "Lift the flap books" (yes, I know I should have started sooner but bedtime is just crazy sometimes, so we can only hope her intellect is not stunted due to her mommy's failure).
Last week our family joined in our city's clean-up of our greenway area. The kids had fun picking up trash and we came home with a pile of T-shirts and a Pear tree that we won. Phil has been busy the last couple of weeks rebuilding a landscaping wall yet again and planting bushes & a tree. I'm not sure how long it takes a pear tree to produce but the kids are excited about just picking their own snack whenever they are hungry.

Thanks for the update. It's great to have a mom in the house.
