Branson Vacation

Our family vacation this summer was a trip to Branson. We got season passes to Silver Dollar City so spent a good part of 4 days there. The kids had a great time and hopefully we will go back this fall to use the passes one more time. So much was just the same as when I was a kid but they did have some awesome new roller coasters. Fire in the Hole used to be the scary ride but not anymore!! Malia & I jumped on the Powder Keg first thing and after we took off at lightning speed I looked over at her and thought she might be ready to cry but when she saw me (looking wide-eyed, no doubt) she started laughing.

Grandfather's mansion

It had rained quite a bit the week before we arrived, so Marvel Cave was closed due to flooding but on the last day it was finally open, so we all trekked through it. Brooklyn had to be carried most of the time and wasn't really fond of that as she wanted to "do it myself".

However, once we were out of the cave - then it was fine to be carried.

The American Plunge - way more soaking wet than I remember as a kid

The Hopping Frogs - Brooklyn's most favorite ride

The Hi-Lo Silo - you were supposed to help pull your self up to the top of the silo, but Meredith preferred to stay at the bottom. She really wasn't much for any scary rides we found out as she screamed and cried on the little kid's coaster.

The Water Boggan ride - Phil did this one once and at the end of the day thankfully, because they all looked like they had just fallen in the lake - they were soaked!!

We went to Branson Landing one evening to enjoy the street entertainers, the fountain & light show, & of course more Funnel Cakes.

The fun little 5 & dime store

Every summer I so look forward to all the trips and fun things we plan. I'm always a little sad when they end.
