I Like Free Stuff!

Well, (sigh) our year of 2 free McDonald value meals per week is almost up. Last February there was a local McDonalds that was having a grand re-opening and the first 100 customers in the drive thru + first 100 inside would get a free value meal every week. They opened at 5:00a.m. and I didn't set my alarm but since I happened to be 7 months pregnant, I was up at 3:30 anyway, so I decided to go. I got there at 4:20a.m. and the line for the drive thru was around the block already (they even had a couple of police there to keep everyone in order). My sister was about 5 cars in front of me so we chatted on the phone till the line started moving. Once we were thru the line we stopped at a nearby grocery store parking lot to eat our breakfast and talk about how crazy we were. Well, by the time we were finished I decided we should go back through again b/c maybe they hadn't given them all away yet - we were both pregnant so ordering a little more food wasn't really an issue! Well, the line was gone but surprisingly, they were still giving out more of the freebies. So, we both ended up with 104 free value meals for the year, and we used every single one. They came in handy on nights when I didn't feel like cooking!

Speaking of freebies, I have stopped at a gas station in our town 2 different times now and I fill up with gas outside & pay w/credit card, and then run in to get a drink. I usually don't have cash, so just give them my debit card to pay. Both times they have been like, "oh honey don't worry about it, you can just have it." I need to stop there again soon and see if it will happen a third time;)
