Alamo & Riverwalk

Here we are - tourists in front of the Alamo

Earlier in the year there had been a reenactment at the Alamo and that would have been so interesting to see. Malia had trouble understanding what it was exactly b/c while we were there she kept asking, "When are we going to see the Alamo?"

We found a shady spot to rest a bit in one of the Alamo's courtyards

Getting ready for our riverboat ride

There were so many neat places to eat right along the water but our group was too big so we ate inside.

After the museum we headed over to the Alamo and walked around a bit. Phil had gotten a couple of books about the Alamo and read to Owen so he would know the history (helped me brush up on mine too!). On our riverboat ride later, the guide told us that downtown building height was restricted so that there was never a shadow cast on the Alamo.

you have a cute family! I don't know if you remember me from college; Christy Dyck (Krentz now). I don't have a blog (I should start one!) but keep up a site for our youngest son;
