Back to School Shopping

Tonight, I took Malia school clothes shopping. Now that she is almost 6, I can't just pick up certain sizes anymore and be guaranteed that they will fit her. So, we hit the stores and she loved trying on piles of clothes. Clothes shopping has never been one of my hobbies, so I pretty much just go when there is something I definitely need. However, with 3 girls, I suppose there will be quite a bit of shopping in my future. We started out at 5:30 and were at our last stop (Kohls) by 9:30. Bad decision! Kohls seems to have this vortex that sucks me in and I wander around looking at everything and lose all track of time. By the time I was in the bath & bed section, Malia was winding down and just hopped up on one of the beds and made herself comfortable until I was finally ready to go. I had promised her ice cream when we were finished so we made a Sonic stop and then finally home to bed!

Owen on the other hand, tries to get out of going shopping like it is the dreaded plague. Seriously, he didn't even want to go along when we went to buy school supplies. I said, "Don't you even want to pick out your backpack?". He said "Nah, it's ok, you can just choose one for me." I even bought his jeans when he wasn't along, and of course had to return them for a different size on another day, but at least I didn't hear all the moaning & groaning in the dressing room.

In addition to the school clothes shopping, I have also been buying outfits for a family picture. I never quite know what I want, so I buy a few options, have everyone try them on at home, and then go from there. Well, of course this involves, returning/exchanging clothes and I think I have been in OLD NAVY at least 5-6 times this last week. It seems like the same manager is in there every time too. Last time he gave me a strange look (in my opinion), so I hope they don't think I am trying to pull some type of scam. Actually, they probably just think I am plain crazy, and I probably am!
